Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actor, known for her roles in the films Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! She began her career in the late 1980s, and rose into prominence thanks to her character in Tezaab, a film where she starred alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her next film was the film Dil in which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dance at an early age. At the age of 15, she started acting but was not successful as a lot films she made were not successful. Then, she discovered success in Indian cinema and rose to the top. Following her marriage she had a break in her career before re-entering the industry. Recently, she had a major role to play on Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggle of Indian women. Dixit was awarded fifteen Filmfare Awards nominations, of which, eight were awarded. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. She also has a reputation for social activism.
